Ideally we are looking to staff with five (5) attendants.
Each year the MeadowBrook neighborhood needs several pool attendants to staff our pool. Attendant duties include but are not limited to the following: greeting and checking-in MeadowBrook HOA members and their guests, testing pool chemicals, monitoring the facility, vacuuming the pools, cleaning the pool area, and cleaning bathrooms. These are not lifeguard positions, but attendants do have some responsibility for enforcing pool rules and addressing safety-related issues. An aptitude to perform the job with minimal direct supervision following initial training is essential.
We expect the 2024 pool season to run from Memorial Day through early September. A mandatory training session will be scheduled in May.
Generally we have attendants at the pool from 10:30AM to 3:30PM and then 3:30PM to 8:30PM during the early part of the season, until 8:00PM in the later part of the season. For the 2024 pool season will need also need attendants to start at 9:00AM to vacuum the pool. Attendants may be scheduled for an average of approximately 15 hours per week. Work shifts may be cancelled without notice due to weather or other pool closures. General evening and weekend availability is an expectation for the position, although we can normally accommodate a limited number of special scheduling requests for each attendant (e.g., to accommodate a family vacation or other periodic limitation). Availability to work is a factor in the hiring decisions.
Key attributes we look for in applicants are (1) a friendly demeanor and positive attitude; (2) maturity to take the safety and service aspects of the job seriously at all times; and (3) individuals who will take initiative to complete tasks without specific, on-site direction/supervision and who will proactively look for things to do throughout each shift that show the neighborhood that the position is providing a valuable service.
Preference in hiring may be given to applicants who are at least 16 years old and to applicants who live in the neighborhood.
